Review Card – Things I Wrote About By Kelsey Humphreys

Sadie Canton writes America’s favorite romance novels. She’s created one hit happy ending after another, all while avoiding her own painful cliffhanger.

But she can’t avoid him anymore.

Her sister’s wedding is forcing her to face her demons, her secrets and most of all her best friend turned bitter enemy, Shep Riggs.

The boy she knew is gone and the man before her is angry, arrogant, competitive, and hot as the Caribbean sun bearing down on them. Sadie planned for this. It’s time to be the hero of her own story, face her past and close that chapter of her life for good.

She’s ready for her villain and his jabs, his smirk, even his eightpack.

What she’s not ready for is Shep’s side of the story, and he’s determined to tell it — rough, unedited, and nowhere near The End.

Book Review – A Summer Changes Everything By Isabelle Grace

When his wife died, Reese was sure he’d never love again. Then he met Shelby.

Widowed horse and cattle farmer Reese Blackwood does not need a keeper. Not for himself or his two sons. They can manage just fine on their own. At least that’s what he keeps telling everybody, especially himself.

Elementary school teacher Shelby Corbett is no pushover. Just ask anyone who has seen how easily she handles a classroom full of boisterous kids. So spending the summer break looking after Reese’s two energetic boys is totally within her wheelhouse.

Which shocks Reese completely.

That’s only the first surprise, though. The second is the undeniable attraction that sparks between them. An attraction that’s totally unexpected but becomes increasingly difficult to ignore. As she helps Reese reconnect with his boys, Shelby shines a light into his dark and lonely world, bringing hope to his broken and grieving heart.

Hope that Reese fears will be lost again when Shelby’s six-week stay at Lone Oaks is over.

Unless he’s willing to risk everything by asking her to stay.

My Review

Reese is a widower was pestered by his mum to look for a caretaker to take care of his two boys while she and his dad take a long vacation. In order to get her off his back, he agreed and his mum engaged Selby, an elementary teacher to care for the children. She soon adapted to the family lifestyle and to Reese’ surprise, Selby seems to be able to control his 2 boys without any issues. With Selby’s presence and help in the family, Reese begin to realize how he has failed his children and determine to change and become the father that his boys deserved.

This is a story about grief and second chance of love.Selby come across as a refreshing character and i love the way she handled the boy and the way Reese and Selby prioritized on his kids and i love how Reese’s brothers and sister in law come together to support Reese in his hour of needs. Overall, it is a delightful and easy to read to me.

My Review

Rory is looking to leave London for a life in the village and when he met Lilacwell’s innkeeper, Cassie, he know he found the one that he want to spend his life with, But Cassie is skeptical with his intention. Cassie was hurt before and it is rather hard for her to place her trust on someone again.

This is my second read from the series and it focus on Rory who want to leave his corporate life and move on to have a village life. Unlike the normal romance story, this series by the author doesn’t only focus on the couple, it also focus on its community. Overall it is an enjoyable read to me.

Her string of bad luck doesn’t stop there. Her car broke down just outside the town and Shane comes to Bellamy’s rescue. Shane, from the start of the book, was depicted as though he is a local boy working at the shop. Bellamy is up for a surprise when Shane’s background was revealed. With her car in the shop, Bellamy tried her best to enjoy her getaway and at the fighting off her attraction to Shane.

It was a bit difficult for me to like Bellamy at the beginning as she can come across as snotty but as the story developed, reader will discover that she have big heart but unfortunately for her, she is stacked in a job that she dont like with a demanding superior. I love the banter between Bellamy and Shane and while i felt that Shane may not be at par with Bellamy in term of their reputation at the beginning of the story, i was pleasantly surprise with the ending of their story. Overall , it is a good read to me.

My Review

Phoebe’s vet clinic finally launched. She is passionately committed vet and opening a vet clinic is something she dreams for and this clinic is a way to keep her grandmother Maggie busy. All her friends come to her clinic launch including Rufus, her grandmother’s landlord. There was instant spark between them but both of them have emotional baggage that makes it difficult to make the first move. Sam, on the hand, still around and yearning for Phoebe from afar despite that he knows that Phoebe doesn’t return his feeling and only want to be friend. So, Sam is trying his best to move on. Both Phoebe and Rufus also have to deal with illegal bunny breeder and pollution stream in their home.

The story is focus on PTSD which experienced by Rufus who lost his wife and the way he struggles to overcome his problem and animal cruelty. There is also love triangle between Phoebe, Rufus and Sam which I did not really fancy much. Love Phoebe’s character and the way she was surrounded by family and friends.Overall, it Is a heartwarming read to me
