Just when Daisy thought she had canal life understood, Theo, her primary go-to for all of her boating questions has left Wildflower Lock, not to mention the budding romance that has been steadily growing.
Not one to sit and wallow, Daisy takes matters into her own hands. Who said long-distance relationships can’t work?
With the help of trusted friend Yvonne, Daisy takes the September Rose on a round trip to surprise her new boyfriend. The best thing about a home on the water? You can go anywhere!
But perhaps leaving the serenity of Wildflower Lock wasn’t the best idea. Daisy hates keeping secrets from Theo, and she’s not the only one…
This is a charming and uplifting novel that invites readers into the picturesque world of Wildflower Lodge. With her evocative prose, Lynn paints a vivid picture of the lodge and its stunning natural surroundings, making it a perfect escape for those seeking a heartwarming read.
This instalment allows us to find out more about Daisy and Theo and the other characters but we also get to hear a bit more about Yvonne’s story and I absolutely loved the way her friendship with Daisy became cemented during the course of this story and how the bond between these two women grew as well as Daisy’s relationship with her mum changing. The descriptions of the settings and the sights and sounds make the reader think they are actually on the narrow boat doing the journey themselves and as usual with these books they transport me back to happy memories of barge holidays from my youth. I would love to go back and do another one, one day . The characters are well-developed and relatable, each bringing their unique quirks and warmth to the story. The romantic subplot is sweet and satisfying, adding an extra layer of charm to the story.

This book is a delightful and heartwarming read that transports readers to the idyllic countryside of Puddleduck Farm. Galton’s storytelling shines as she weaves a tale of love, community, and second chances, creating a book that feels like a warm hug.
The protagonist, Phoebe, is endearing and relatable as she navigates the challenges of rural life while trying to restore the farm to its former glory. Her journey is filled with ups and downs, but her determination and optimism keep the story engaging. The romance subplot is charming and well-paced, with a perfect blend of tension and tenderness that will keep readers rooting for Phoebe’s happy ending. The themes of community support, resilience, and finding happiness in unexpected places are beautifully explored. Galton’s ability to balance lighthearted moments with deeper emotional undertones makes this book a satisfying read.
Overall, it is a perfect escape for anyone looking for a feel-good story with relatable characters and a picturesque setting. He was always the right guy, it was always the wrong time…until now?
You never forget your first and the saying couldn’t be truer for Daisy Malone. Because the moment childhood friend turned Hollywood superstar Zach Dryden reappears in her life she instantly remembers how she felt during the summer that changed everything. After weeks of flirting, the heat between them exploded in an electrifying (yet slightly embarrassing) one night together. But then Zach left and Daisy moved on and she knew their friendship – and her heart – would never be the same again.
Now Zach is back, more charming and irresistible than ever, and offering her a once in a lifetime trip to the Cannes film festival. Daisy has never found anyone who can compare with Zach, but she’s reluctant to open her heart to him again. Yet with so much history between them, can Daisy give their friendship a second chance…or will he always be the one who got away?
“Three’s a Crowd” is a short, easy read about Daisy, who settles for her best friend Adam, despite lingering feelings for childhood friend Zach. Zach’s return from Hollywood reignites old sparks, but Daisy’s indecision causes turmoil. The story struggles with its cheating theme, failing to show Daisy’s growth and hard decisions, resulting in an unearned resolution. Despite the chemistry between Daisy and Zach, the narrative needed stronger development to truly engage readers.
