Review Card & Book Review- A French Inheritance By Jennifer Bohnet

Every moment is a new beginning on the French Riviera 🇫🇷🌼

Five years ago, Adam and Lucy Belgrave took the plunge and bought a sprawling rundown farm in the South of France to bring back to life, much against the advice of Adam’s brother, Elliot.

Today, that dream is becoming a reality and the farm is beginning to thrive and Elliot finds himself grateful for the refuge it provides after his career falters and his marriage fails.

After the death of her beloved granny, a bitter divorce and surprise redundancy – the saying ’sad things come in threes’ resonates with Briony Dymond’s life. With her mother by her side, Briony travels to France to learn some news that will change her life completely. Will she have the courage to embrace granny Giselle’s special wishes?

As spring returns to the French Riviera both Elliot and Briony seek to put their pasts behind them and look to find happiness in the future. But can the past give up its hold on the present?

About The Author

My Review

This is a warm and uplifting novel that blends themes of family, second chances, and the healing power of change against the enchanting backdrop of the French countryside.

The story follows Briony, whose life crumbles when her divorce is finalized on the very same day she loses her job. Feeling untethered, she agrees to her mother’s suggestion of a short trip to France. There, grief and hope intertwine as she mourns the loss of her beloved aunt—only to discover she has inherited property in a charming French village. Suddenly, Briony must decide not only what to do with the inheritance, but also how to shape her future. The cozy, sun-soaked atmosphere, complete with canine companions and picturesque settings, makes this a delightful escapist read. While some plot developments arrive a little too conveniently, they serve to underscore the novel’s heartwarming message.

This is an enjoyable, feel-good summer read—perfect for anyone who loves stories of renewal, family connections, and the irresistible charm of life in France.

Months later, our eyes lock across a boardroom table. The shock is real. Because Matt is no escort—he’s a powerful billionaire investor. And he’s determined not to let me get away this time.

But there are things about me he doesn’t know. Secrets I can’t share.

I’m no damsel in distress, and Matt’s no white knight.

Could he be my kind of hero?

About The Author

My Review

This is a sparkling romance that combines humor, heart, and irresistible chemistry. From the very first page, readers are pulled into a scenario that feels both outrageous and utterly charming.

Matt arrives in New York for his ex’s wedding, only to be mistaken by Ryan as the escort she’s hired to attend her own ex’s nuptials. Rather than correct her, Matt goes along with the charade, leading to a night of banter, heat, and a connection neither of them expected. Their witty exchanges and instant chemistry make their first encounter an absolute delight.

When their paths cross again months later, the tension shifts. Ryan has to grapple with Matt’s initial deception, while Matt must prove he’s more than the man she thought she knew. His determination to win her back—alongside tender moments with his niece, lively interactions with his siblings, and cameos from newly married friends—adds warmth and depth to the story.

With snappy dialogue, spicy romance, and genuine heart, it is a captivating blend of humor and emotion, making it a standout read for fans of mistaken-identity and second-chance love stories.

Review Card & Book Review- Game Changer By Deanna Faison

About The Author

My Review

Game Changer is the second book in Deanna Faison’s series, and this time we get Ethan—Maddie’s brother and Cameron’s best friend—and Maya, Maddie’s close friend. I loved finally seeing these two step into the spotlight after years of unspoken feelings and “almost” moments. Their flirty night together and eventual reunion had all the sparks of a second-chance romance, and the chemistry between them was undeniable.

Ethan’s vulnerability really stood out to me. His anxiety about his size and his tendency to overthink added depth to his character, making him feel real and relatable. Maya, on the other hand, had her own struggles balancing family expectations with her desires, and while her decisions sometimes created conflict, it also made her journey more authentic. What I especially enjoyed was how deeply Ethan cared for Maya—his devotion was touching, even if at times I wished he gave himself more space to grow.

The alternating perspectives added richness, and I loved revisiting familiar faces from Playmaker. While this wasn’t my absolute favorite in the series, it was heartfelt, engaging, and a sweet addition that fans will enjoy.

Review Card & Book Review- The Boss I Can’t Stand By Leslie North

This is a charming workplace romance that blends humor, warmth, and just the right amount of slow-burn tension. Sierra, a costume designer with big dreams, never expects her life to be turned upside down by Finn, the seemingly grumpy CEO of a Hollywood studio. After a less-than-ideal first meeting, Sierra finds herself interviewing for him the very next day—and unexpectedly, landing the job.

What follows is a delightful journey of discovering that first impressions aren’t always the full story. Sierra’s determination, creativity, and kindness make her instantly endearing, while Finn, beneath his rough exterior, proves to be far more supportive and caring than she could have imagined. When gossip and a misplaced cufflink throw them into a fake engagement, the ruse only highlights the genuine affection growing between them.
The chemistry between Sierra and Finn is sweet, heartfelt, and uplifting, with a payoff that feels both tender and satisfying. Overall , it is a lovely, feel-good romance that will leave readers smiling.

Review Card & Book Review- One More Made Up Love Song By Jenny Proctor

Then Freddie kisses Ivy—an impulsive move to save himself from a little bit of bad press—and everything changes. Now, the whole world thinks they’re in love.

Even more significant: Ivy could swear Freddie felt the same fireworks she did when he pressed his lips to hers.

What starts as an accidental publicity stunt quickly turns into something more, but fame makes everything more complicated. As Freddie’s spotlight grows to include her—and her family—Ivy starts to wonder if the life Freddie can offer her is worth the life she’ll give up. And how she’ll ever survive without him if it isn’t.

About The Author

My Review

Ivy Conway has spent over four years as the ever-reliable personal assistant to rock star Freddie Ridgefield, keeping his world organized while quietly concealing her unrequited love for him. When an impulsive kiss changes everything, their relationship shifts in ways neither expected, bringing sparks, challenges, and vulnerability to the forefront.

Ivy’s grief over her sister Daphne and her devotion to her family give her depth and relatability, while Freddie’s struggles with belonging—especially in contrast to his academic family—make him both endearing and authentic. Their connection is tender and genuine, unfolding with just the right mix of tension and sweetness.

This is a charming, heartfelt closed-door romantic comedy that strikes the perfect balance between humor, tenderness, and slow-burn romance. As the second book in the Midnight Rush series, it follows Once Upon a Boyband but easily works as a standalone, offering a story that feels fresh and captivating on its own.

Review Card & Book Review – The Life She Could Have Lived By Laura Pearson

What if the answer to one little question could change your whole life?

Soon after Anna goes on the best date of her life with a man called James – she and her best friend Nia visit a fortune teller. Who tells Nia that she will have one great love. But all she tells Anna is that her future is with a man whose name begins with a J.

It won’t be James though – he never calls. And then Anna meets Edward – gorgeous, kind, loving. He’s all she’s ever dreamed of. Until he asks her to make a choice about their future.

If Anna says ‘yes’ to him, her life will go one way. If she says ‘no’, it’ll go another. Both of the worlds could be happy. Both of the worlds could be heartbreaking… But as Nia meets her one great love in both worlds, which of Anna’s answers – yes or no – will bring her life together with the person who she’s fated to be with?

About The Author

My Review

This is a tender and thought-provoking exploration of fate, choice, and the many possible versions of a life. At its heart is Anna, a woman at a crossroads, where a single decision has the power to set her on one of two very different paths.

The story opens with a hopeful date and a fortune teller’s prediction: Anna’s future lies with a man whose name begins with J. When James suddenly disappears and Edward—kind, steady, and dependable—enters her life, Anna is left with a choice that reshapes everything. Pearson crafts a beautifully layered dual narrative, showing us two possible futures that are equally compelling, filled with moments of joy, heartbreak, and quiet revelation. What makes the novel shine is Pearson’s warm, lyrical prose and her ability to bring authenticity to her characters. Anna feels deeply relatable, and the themes of love, friendship, identity, and self-acceptance are interwoven with tenderness. Rather than simply posing a “what if?” scenario, the book asks a more profound question: what truly matters when we decide how to live?

Overall, this is an uplifting yet contemplative read—a gentle reminder that every path holds its own kind of magic.

She’s inherited a crumbling sheep farm in wildest, wettest Wales. This was not her life plan. Not at all.

Now, her closest companion is a stubborn Welsh terrier, she’s speed-reading The Idiot’s Guide to Farming, and her arrival has set the village gossip mill spinning. With the farm near collapse, Alex sets out to uncover the truth behind her mysterious inheritance.

But as secrets surface, Alex finds her heart pulling her in a direction she never saw coming.

Will she pack her bags – or has she landed exactly where she’s meant to be?

About The Author

My Review

This is a heartwarming, uplifting story about resilience, community, and new beginnings. It follows Alex, a journalist who loses her job to AI—an issue that feels all too relevant today. Unexpectedly, she inherits a rundown sheep farm in Wales, complete with debts, repairs, and plenty of challenges. Having no farming experience, Alex questions why she’s been left the farm and, more importantly, by whom.

As the story unfolds, the farm transforms not only Alex’s life but also the village, the pub, and her neighbor Dickon, a racehorse trainer. I particularly loved Alex’s instant bond with Jiffy the dog and the touching companionship between the horse, The Skirrid, and the sheep who calmed him. Alex’s kindness, resilience, and determination make her a truly special heroine.

This is a wonderful story about overcoming obstacles, embracing unexpected opportunities, and finding love and purpose.
