Marked Obsession By Bri Blackwood

In his world, power isn’t negotiated—it’s taken. Kept. Owned.

I learned that too late. Men like him don’t see women the way others do. They see leverage. Risk. Weakness. And somehow, I became all three.

Years ago, I closed a door he intended to walk through without resistance. Cost him ground he doesn’t lose. I told myself it was business. It wasn’t. Now his company owns Prescott Vantage, and his condition is simple: I stay.

I should walk away. I should know better. But walking away from men like him isn’t simple—it’s dangerous. He watches me like I’m a problem he’s already solved. Like he knows my routines. My tells. The exact moment my control slips.

I tell myself I can handle him. That staying is strategy. Survival. But the longer I’m here, the clearer it becomes.

I’m not managing him. I’m contained by him. He isn’t losing interest. He’s closing in. And the worst part? I think I was marked long before I ever realized I was his.

About The Author

My Review

This book is about a freshly empty-nest heroine who signs up for a matchmaking retreat at the Love Hotel in Paris only to find herself tangled in a forbidden, age-gap romance she never expected. In this book, Olivia Spring delivers a premise that’s instantly appealing: a glamorous Parisian escape filled with romantic possibility and emotional risk.

The matchmaking concept gives the story a playful, slightly chaotic energy, while the Paris setting provides dreamy backdrops and an atmosphere of reinvention. The age-gap dynamic between Laila and Gabriel is handled with care, avoiding discomfort and instead focusing on mutual respect and quiet longing. The forbidden element adds tension, though it simmers more than it sizzles.

Where the novel feels lighter is in emotional depth. While the characters are likable enough, their connection never quite reaches a level that fully captivates. Still, the writing is smooth, the pacing easy, and the overall tone gentle and escapist.

A pleasant, low-angst romance perfect for readers craving Parisian charm and a breezy love story.
