Book Review – The Sweetheart Fix By Miranda Liasson

Juliet Montgomery absolutely loves her small town of Blossom Glen, Indiana, and everyone loves her. Except for the fact that she’s a couples counselor who suffered a very public breakup that no one can forget. And now her boss asks her to take a step back…which is exactly when the town’s good-lookin’ and unusually gruff mayor offers her an unexpected job.

Jack Monroe absolutely loves being the mayor of his small town. Except when he actually has to talk to people. Can’t he just fix the community problems in peace? Like right now, he’s mediating the silliest dispute two neighbors could possibly have. When the town sweetheart steps up and solves everyone’s problems in five minutes flat, Jack realizes what this town really needs…is a therapist.

Juliet is able to soothe anyone—other than the surly mayor, it seems. But there’s a reason they say opposites attract, because all of their verbal sparring leads to some serious attraction. Only, just like with fireworks, the view might appear beautiful—but she’s already had one public explosion that’s nearly ruined everything…how can she risk her heart again?

My Review

Juliet, the town latest counselor found herself been put on leave when her clients began to question her suitability as a counselor due to her very public breakup. With nothing much to do, she stumble upon the town mayor’s townhall where she found out that the mayor has the issue to handle the people’s dispute. Being a mayor doesn’t come easy for Jack. When Juliet assisted him in solving the grievances of the people, Jack offer her a job to be his assistant. Thrown together, Juliet find Jack to be a grumpy person. Jack struggle to help his grandma to protect her property for being develop. Both of them soon found out what started off sparring with each other on the job, they can worked well together on and off the job.

This book is a small town romance about family relationship. and 2nd chance in love. Juliet is a great character who struggle with her past but as the progress, I love the way she faces the problem and trying to fix it and the chemistry between them. The storyline was easy to follow and with minimal conflict between the main characters. Overall it is a fun read to me.

The Bachelor Contract By Victoria James

New mom May Peterson can’t believe she’s back in her hometown. She has eight weeks to fix up, and sell, her childhood home. Just enough to say hello to her best friend and goodbye to her painful past. But in the warm, tightly-knit community of Maple Hill, it’s impossible to avoid anyone—especially the cute “boy next door.” And while May is definitely over the idea of love, his irresistible smile still makes her toes curl…

When they were kids, Austin Merrick only ever saw May as his sister’s best friend. Over time, they’d become friends, sharing late-night chats over cheddar popcorn. Now May Peterson has returned with an adorable baby that quickly wraps him around her little finger. But after seeing the damage a broken heart can do, Austin and his brother made an agreement: to never, ever fall in love. No marriage. No kids. Ever.

Now they’re working together to fix up her old home, and sparks of attraction are making it almost impossible to keep to their no-romance rules. But when it comes to love, hearts never play by the rules…especially when it comes to finding “the one.”

Playing It Tough By Amy Andrews

Cosmetic tattoo artist Orla Stewart doesn’t do anything in half measures. She went from being the ultimate party animal to living a life that’s ridiculously straight and narrow. Turns out, cancer can change a girl. A lot. Adios to delicious cheeses, boozy dance parties and easy men. Hel-lo to celibacy and a sweet house-sitting gig with a massive pool. Until one very hot, very unwelcome intruder turns things upside down.

American rugby import Ronan Dempsey’s partying is trashing both his reputation and his game—and risking his chances for making the US Olympic team. He needs to clean up, and the pool house belonging to a family friend is the perfect place to hideaway. No. More. distractions. Which is exactly when a gorgeous, pink-haired hellion knocks Ronan on his ass…

The chemistry is instantaneous, charged, and absolutely, completely, totally off-limits. Proximity makes temptation nearly impossible to resist. Now it’s a deliciously torturous game of pushing boundaries and holding out. It’s just a matter of time before someone breaks…

My Review

Liam is back in town after a decade in the military and purchased a house next to Tessa. While Liam come across as grumpy, Tessa is overly cheerful who enjoy being happy and making others happy. They have nothing in common but become friend with benefits. Liam is the oldest among 4 siblings and have been away all these while. Being back in town, he need to adapt that he no longer has control over his siblings. He need to reconnect with his family. Her family is worried for her but to her, she is back on track. She need  to learn to find a way to live without him.

This book is enemies to lovers and holiday romance that filled with emotion. I love how Liam and Tessa learned about themselves and each other. Liam is a kind and loving person despite his crankiness. I like the way he brings Tessa out from her delusions and indirectly bringing her back to reality. Overall it is heartwarming read to me.
