A fresh start. A second chance. A love worth choosing.

Burned out after years as a Chicago ER nurse, Mae Sullivan escapes to Pine Harbor in search of peace, sea air and a new beginning. But even in a town this charming, starting over isn’t so simple.

Jonah Sawyer knows every tide and dock along the harbor – yet he’s drowning under his family’s expectations, with a future mapped out that he never chose.

When a snowy-night misunderstanding on the pier throws Mae and Jonah together, sparks fly despite the biting cold and swirling flakes. But Mae is still healing, and Jonah must decide whether to keep living the life planned for him, or risk everything for one he chooses himself.

Under starlit winter skies, will they find the courage to begin again?

About The Author

My Review

This book is about Mae, a hardworking and burned-out ER nurse who escapes the demands of city life for a much-needed fresh start in the charming town of Pine Harbor. Surrounded by winter skies and gentle snowflakes, Mae begins to rediscover a sense of peace she desperately needs.

Then she meets Jonah, a local carrying his own struggles between family expectations and the dreams he hopes to pursue. Their growing connection is filled with sparkling chemistry, playful banter, and a delightful will-they-won’t-they romance that kept me rooting for them.

I loved the cosy winter atmosphere and how relatable both Mae and Jonah felt. The added family drama brings emotional depth and creates challenges that threaten their blossoming relationship without taking away from the warmth of the story. This is a charming, heartwarming romance about fresh starts, second chances, and finding the courage to follow your heart. A perfect cosy read to enjoy under a blanket with a mug of hot chocolate.

Review Card & Book Review – The Rancher’s Vow By Alexis Morgan

A curveball…

Or a fresh new start?

Some guys never leave their hometown. Professional baseball player Trace Calland couldn’t wait to escape Dunbar, Washington—only now he’s back, with a damaged shoulder and his ballplaying career on the line. Trace is hoping his new physical therapist, Avery Unger, might be just what he needs. No coddling. No fangirling. Just professional care. Which is proving to be a problem now that something is sparking between them, because Trace needs to focus on healing and getting back to his team. And while Trace’s old dream may be in danger of being over, something—or rather someone, namely the talented, beautiful Avery—might take its place.

About The Author

My Review

This book is about Trace and Avery, two likeable characters whose growing attraction becomes increasingly difficult to ignore in the charming small town of Dunbar. Alexis Morgan delivers a sweet and heartfelt romance filled with warmth, family bonds, ranch life, and adorable animals.

Trace is struggling with his recovery and uncertainty surrounding his career, but returning to the ranch reminds him of the life and community he has always loved. His connection with Avery develops naturally, with plenty of chemistry as they both try—rather unsuccessfully—to resist their feelings.

I appreciated the honesty between them, particularly Avery’s awareness of the complications surrounding their therapist-client relationship. Their attempts to maintain boundaries add tension and emotional depth to the romance.

The strong bond between Trace and his brother, along with the warmth of his family, was another highlight. The ranch setting and animals add wonderful small-town charm.

Overall, this is a comforting and enjoyable romance about healing, family, unexpected love, and rediscovering where you truly belong.
