The Review Card – The Friendship Pact By Jill Shalvis

New York Times bestselling author Jill Shalvis returns to Sunrise Cove with a powerful, moving story about a young woman on a quest to find the truth about her father who learns the meaning of true love along the way.

Alone in the world, Tae Holmes and her mother April pretty much raised each other, but as Tae starts asking questions about the father she’s never met, April, for the first time in her life, goes silent. To make matters worse, Tae is dangerously close to broke and just manages to avoid financial meltdown when she lands a shiny new contract with an adventure company for athletes with disabilities and wounded warriors.

Her first big fundraiser event falls flat, but what starts out as a terrible, horrible, no-good night turns into something else entirely when Tae finds herself face-to-face with Riggs Copeland. She hasn’t seen the former Marine since their brief fling in high school, and while still intensely drawn to him, she likes her past burned and buried, thank you very much. Hence their friendship pact.

But when April oddly refuses to help Tae track down her father, it’s Riggs who unexpectedly comes to her aid. On a hunt to unlock the past, the two of them find themselves on a wild ride and learn a shocking truth, while also reluctantly bonding in a way neither had seen coming. Now Tae must decide whether she’s going to choose love … or walk away from her own happiness.

Book Review – The Maverick’s Accidental Bride By Christine Rimmer

Married by Mistake?

Rust Creek Ramblings

Welcome back, faithful readers! The Rust Creek Rambler has an exclusive for you: Jordyn Leigh Cates has gotten married! That’s right, our innocent Jordyn, who came to town a few years back with the Rust Creek Falls “Gal Rush,” tied the knot on July Fourth in what appeared to be a very impulsive ceremony.

No one could blame the blushing bridesmaid for saying “I do” to Will Clifton. The sexy, blue-eyed rancher is six feet of pure muscle and charm. But are these two merely love-struck friends who got swept away at someone else’s wedding? Our sources suggest otherwise. Stay tuned to find out the true story behind these surprise spouses—and see if they can make it past their honeymoon!

My Review

Jordyn and Will met again at a wedding they both attended in Rust Creek after separated for years. They woke up the next day and got a shock when they found out that they are married. As they discover that they could not dissolve their marriage as easily as they thought, they decided to stay married for a month to see whether Jordyn got pregnant from the night they spent together.

It is a charming and delightful read for me with long time friends finding out they are perfect for each other. Both Jordyn and Will does make a cute couple and I love the banter they share.

My Review

It is continuation story where we get to witness Samantha and Josh’s wedding on the 1st anniversary of the Sanctuary.

This is the 5th book of Hedgehog Hollow series and my 2nd book in the series. The story started at a slow pace but pick up towards the middle. Whilst the previous book focus on Sam and Josh, this story focus on Lauren. She discovered that she has made redundant as the college where she worked been sold. I was surprise with Lauren’s story which came as unexpected to me especially about what happened to her ex- husband. As her life hits a crossroad, Lauren was forced to find closure to her past.

It was a heartwarming story with wonderful characters. I love how each of them entwined together. I love reading the way the author wrote the more complication situation sensitively.

Meghan return to Hatteras Island to her beloved grandpa’s home, where all her fond memories are. She met Toby and his dementia grandfather, Rupert who mistaken her for his good friend. As his delusional mind become more detailed, Meghan began to believe Rupert’s story. Meghan feel there is undeniable bond with Rupert and those snippet from Rupert turned out to be a secret that has been buried far too long.

This book is about family drama, pasts and present, with a dash of mystery and love. It is a quick and sweet read about Meghan who return to her hometown to find a place that she belong. Along with this, there is mystery surrounding the relationship between Rupert and Meghan.

Erica was the one who amputated his leg. Five years later they met again and Erica wonder whether he remember her. Thorne knew who Erica is even before her request to work was approved. Both of them battling their own demons and neither of them want long term commitment but couldn’t help when they were attracted to each other.

It is a sweet and emotional read for me. The storyline is well written about how love heal two people who really have been through some tough times and found found the happiness they deserve at the end. Loved watching the chemistry between Erica and Thorne.

Book Review – Love Out Loud By Marissa Clarke

A deliciously fun, flirty rom-com where love doesn’t happen by opening a door…it happens when you get stuck in one.

Veterinarian Fiona Nichols does not do well in stressful social situations. A little babble here, saying the absolutely wrong thing there. But that doesn’t stop Fiona from checking out the delectably hot guy in her building…from afar. Fate apparently has a nasty sense of humor, though.

Somehow Fiona gets herself and Hot Guy stuck in the building’s revolving door—all thanks to a certain squeaky dog toy…that unfortunately looks decidedly, uh, penile.

Must be time to meet the neighbors.

Turns out that Jake Ward is Fiona’s new public-speaking coach. A hot extrovert who always knows what to say. Fiona should hate the man on sight. Instead, she’s only finding him more attractive. And now she’s finally getting out of her comfort zone…only to get in over her head.

My Review

Fiona, a vet, is expected to give a speech, in accepting an award for her community work. Something she think she could not do due to her phobia to speak in the public. She is more comfortable talking to animal then human. Jack who is a public speaking coach was hired to help and prepare her for the event. They stay close and notice each other. However, Jake avoid her at all cost due to her puppy. Jack has a phobia too. He is afraid of dog.

It is a sweet and heartwarming read to me. There are multiple of funny moments in the story and also very tender ones. I love reading how the main characters help each other to overcome their phobia and also their chemistry.
