My Review

Kate’s ex husband left her with a lot of debt that is causing her to lose her solicitor’s license. She need to find a job to get money to pay the creditor. She met with Calvin whom she thought was another collector but in reality he is trying to find information about the building he owned. Calvin is an ex-professional footballer and inherited a nursing home which is not making money and he need help to compile detail on all the assets from his uncle.

It is a delightful read to me with amazing interactions between the characters in the book. Love how the romance between them grew and how they help each other through their heartbreak and challenges.

The Sweetheart Fix By Miranda Liasson

Juliet Montgomery absolutely loves her small town of Blossom Glen, Indiana, and everyone loves her. Except for the fact that she’s a couples counselor who suffered a very public breakup that no one can forget. And now her boss asks her to take a step back…which is exactly when the town’s good-lookin’ and unusually gruff mayor offers her an unexpected job.

Jack Monroe absolutely loves being the mayor of his small town. Except when he actually has to talk to people. Can’t he just fix the community problems in peace? Like right now, he’s mediating the silliest dispute two neighbors could possibly have. When the town sweetheart steps up and solves everyone’s problems in five minutes flat, Jack realizes what this town really needs…is a therapist.

Juliet is able to soothe anyone—other than the surly mayor, it seems. But there’s a reason they say opposites attract, because all of their verbal sparring leads to some serious attraction. Only, just like with fireworks, the view might appear beautiful—but she’s already had one public explosion that’s nearly ruined everything…how can she risk her heart again?

The Sweetheart Spot By Adriana Locke

She wants forever. He plays it day by day. They’re both wishing for the best in USA Today bestselling author Adriana Locke’s charming and sexy hopefully-ever-after romance.

Single mom Palmer Clark will not be sidelined by the new man in town. Sure, the honey-tongued baseball legend is gorgeous, loves puppies, and has charmed his way into the community’s heart, but Palmer craves stability. Nothing about Cole says forever. So why is he so hard to resist?

Cole is swinging through town to visit his parents when he meets the kind of down-to-earth distraction he’s been looking for since retiring from the majors. True, his long-term relationship score is zero. But even though raising his average with Palmer seems impossible, it’s worth a shot.

As promising as the summer nights are, fate turns small-town dreams upside down, and some lessons are learned the hard way. But having faith in love and choosing hope over fear might get Palmer and Cole to the sweet spot they’re looking for.

Resting Scrooge Face By Meghan Quinn

After a bad breakup, Nola wants nothing to do with Christmas, especially in her quaint hometown of Bright Harbor, Maine. Infuriatingly charming and cheery, Nola’s surroundings only worsen her sour mood.

To make matters worse, Caleb, the boy who broke her heart years ago, is all grown up and still living in town. While doing her best to avoid him, Nola bumps into the local mailman, who gives her a mysterious letter. And when she finds that the writer is a fellow Scrooge, she can’t help but feel her spirit lifting.

Nola writes back to her new pen pal—who, unbeknownst to Nola, is none other than Caleb. When Caleb gets a response hand delivered by the mailman, he’s intrigued by the mystery sender. A friendly correspondence develops—and quickly turns flirtatious.

Although Nola and Caleb claim they can’t stand each other, they can’t deny the simmering attraction that brought them together in the first place.

Can these nameless pen pals write their own love story—or will they be too caught up with the ghosts of their Christmases past to find a future together?

Everyone here had another life before this. A life that we still desperately want, but can no longer have, where we are capable and independent, and masters of our own universes. Accepting you no longer have the life you want is a blow like no other.

This book is a wonderful love story told from dual person perspective that at times pull at my heartstrings. I love Palmer for his vulnerability despite his macho outlook and the chemistry that both Palmer and Malia have. It is not just a love story. It was filled with dilemma especially at the part when Malia decide to go for the fertility treatment.

I’m not afraid of you or what you’re about to do. Too many women marry someone they don’t love because they’re desperate to have a family, and it ends up in disaster. When you fall for someone, it will be for the man he is, and you’ll never let him forget.

My Review

Tristan is a chief police who work with Sheriff Skylar. Prior to Skylar’s transfer, both of them had one special night together without realising who the other was. Since Skylar move to town, both of them tried their best to pretend the one night never happened. Tristan doesn’t know Skylar’s past and when the person who causing her so much pain appear again in her life, Tristan take over and protect her as much as possible.

This is a romantic suspense and I love Skye and Tristan character. The action and excitement storyline really make me turn the pages at a fast pace and I couldn’t put my kindle down. Overall it is a fast and easy read with lovable real character.

Published Date : 21 September 2022

My Review

After being a widow for the past 20 years and pouring all her attention to raised her 2 children. It is hard for Cassie to watch her children to be involved in sailing what more when she lost her husband in a sailing accident. But she have to since it is her children’s interest. Tom is about to take an around the world boat race but a freak accident has prevented him from taking part. Polly who is keen sailor but less experience than her brother decide to take over instead. The story continue with Polly’s adventure and Cassie’s life as she set to make some major decision of her own.

I love the storyline that is full action drama and narration of what a solo yachting race require. It is understandable of Cassie’s fear for her children safety. This book is also about a strong women who set to claim back her life and discover love on her own terms. Overall it is a sweet read for me.
