Kelcie
After losing my entire family in a brutal attack, I’m drowning in grief. The only bright spot? My mysterious new neighbor, Levi—a tattooed bestselling author who somehow understands my pain.
He’s grumpy, he’s damaged, and he hates being touched. Except by me.
Levi
I moved next door to Kelcie for one reason: to make sure she’s okay after the tragedy that took her family. A tragedy I know more about than I should.
She’s the only person whose touch doesn’t make my skin crawl. The only one who makes me want to be whole again.
But I’m hiding a devastating secret—one that connects me to the worst night of her life. And when she discovers the truth, it could destroy the fragile love we’ve built from our broken pieces.
About The Author

My Review
This book is about Kelcie and Levi, two emotionally wounded souls whose quiet connection slowly becomes a source of comfort, trust, and healing. Once warm and sociable, Kelcie’s trauma has left her withdrawn, lonely, and numb. Levi is equally reserved, uncomfortable with physical touch and surrounded by mystery, making his connection to Kelcie and his arrival in Verona especially intriguing.
Levi quickly became a character I adored. His determination to keep his distance from Kelcie creates an emotional tension that makes their growing attraction impossible to ignore. Every glance, thoughtful gesture, and caring word reveals just how deeply attentive he is, even when he struggles to express his feelings.
What makes their romance so believable is how perfectly they complement one another. They become exactly what the other needs, offering patience and understanding without forcing healing. Kelcie’s sweet bond with Levi’s dog, Lick, adds another heartwarming layer to the story.
I especially appreciated the lack of unnecessary drama. Their insecurities and emotions feel natural and maturely handled. This is a tender, emotional romance about finding safety, connection, and love after trauma.
